FTP Accounts

FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is a simple network protocol which allows you to transfer/upload files from your computer onto your web hosting space. Each web hosting package comes with a secure FTP account. Your FTP details can be found at web hosting management section of the Easyspace control panel.

100% Network Uptime Guarantee

Easyspace guarantee that your hosting services will have 100% network uptime during each calendar month. Network Uptime Guarantee is the percentage of uptime in a given time period a service will remain active.

Operating System

Each customer will get a choice of Linux based or Windows based hosting with web hosting packages. The cost of both operation systems is the same; however each platform offers slightly different options: Windows based hosting will be compatible with ASP, ASP.Net, Access Databases and MS SQL while Linux based hosting platforms will be compatible with PHP, CGI and MySQL.

Management Control Panel

All Easyspace customers, regardless of their service, are given their very own management control panel. The control panel allows you to manage everything from service setup and management through to password changes, personal detail changes and service renewals.

FREE Domain Name

All yearly Easyspace web hosting packages come with a FREE domain name registration (TLD) for 1 year and .co.uk for 2 years. Easyspace is currently offering choice of FREE domains such as .com, .net, .info, .org, .biz, .co.uk, .me & .eu! PLEASE NOTE - the free domain is for a new domain registration, you cannot purchase hosting to renew an existing domain

Sub-domains

A sub-domain, also known as “third-level” domain name is great for creating a memorable web address for various areas of your web site without the cost of new domains. For instance your web address is www.yourwebsite.com, and you created a sub-domain for your friend. After its setup, the address would be friend.yourwebsite.com. This would go to a different area of your site. You can create sub- domains for co-workers, family members, or to build separate sub-sites.

Domain Forwarding

Domain forwarding is like a web page redirecting a visitor to another website but instead of using HTML or a script to do the redirection, the domain name itself redirects to the website. When a domain is set to forwarding the domain name does not stay in the web browser's URL bar. Instead, it change to the address that you chose to forward it to. Here is an example: 'https://www.yourwebsite.com' → 'https://yourdomainname.co.uk/index.html' So when visitor type 'https://www.yourwebsite.com' into the browser, they'll see https://yourdomainname.co.uk/index.html once it has forwarded

DNS Management

Advanced users may take advantage of advanced DNS settings such as changing A records, MX records, and CNAME) and changing TTL settings. The DNS, domain name system, is the way that Internet domain names are located and translated into Internet Protocol addresses. A domain name is a meaningful and easy-to-remember 'handle' for an Internet address.

• A Record - A record (Address Record) is a DNS record that points and hosts a domain name on a static IP address.
• CNAME - A CNAME record, Canonical Name Record is a type of resource record in the Domain Name System (DNS) that indicates the true, or canonical, host name of a computer that its aliases are associated with.
• MX Record Control - Mail Exchange Record (MX Record), is an entry in a domain name database that identifies which mail server is responsible for handling emails for a domain name.
• When more than one MX record is entered for any single domain name that is using more than one mail server, the MX record can be prioritized with a preference number that indicates the order in which the mail servers should be used. This enables the use of primary and backup mail servers.

POP3 Mailboxes / IMAP Mailboxes

Post Office Protocol (POP) used by local mail clients (like Microsoft Outlook) to retrieve email from a remote server over a TCP/IP connection. POP3 is the most commonly used email protocol. When using a POP3 mailbox, the messages are downloaded and stored on your computer. You can configure your mail client (Outlook etc.) to download mail from this mailbox, or you can simply access your mailbox through the Easyspace webmail service.

Internet message access protocol (IMAP) is one of the two most established Internet standard protocols for mail retrieval, the other being the Post Office Protocol (POP). IMAP stores your mail folders (inbox, sent items, etc.) on the server. Because IMAP stores all your email folders on the mail server, you can view them from any location (home, office, etc.). Email stored on your account does count towards your disk space quota. Almost all modern email clients and servers support both protocols as a means of transferring email messages from a server.

Email Storage Space

Easyspace allow you to allocate your email storage space across your mailboxes. So, if you want to have 1 large mailbox or 15 small mailboxes - that’s entirely your choice. As an example if you required 5 mailboxes and you had a domain allowance of 10GB o – you could have 5 x 2GB email boxes. This should be more than enough for starting & growing businesses alike.

Webmail

Webmail or web-based email is a web application which allows users to access email via a web browser at any time. All Easyspace email hosted services comes with a free powerful and flexible webmail application.

Email Aliases

Email Aliases are simply a forwarding email address. An email alias allows you to create several alternative email addresses to point to your main mailbox. For instance, your primarily mailbox might be 'contact@yourwebsite.com'. You could then setup aliases such as 'info@' and 'enquiry@' to point to 'contact@yourcompany.com'.

Email forwarding allows you to point emails sent to “something@yourwebsite.com” to a preferred mail account of your choice

Email Autoresponders

Easyspace email autoresponders allow you to set up an automatic response on any of your mailboxes. If you are going to be out of the office or away from your mail, then through mail auto responders, you can setup friendly auto replies letting people know when you will be able to reply.

Roaming SMTP

Roaming SMTP (Outgoing mail server) permits you to send email from any Internet connection along with alternative ports.

Catch All Email Addresses

The catch all facility allows you to setup one email account on your domain that will catch all email sent to “anything@yourwebsite.com”. So, for example, with this setup, any emails sent to “info@”, “enquiry@” or “somethingelse@” your domain name, will all be held in the catch all account.

Microsoft SQL

You can create MS SQL Server databases on your account and have full control of them via the Microsoft Enterprise Manager or ODBC. MSSQL Server is the most powerful database available for the web today and is the solution used by many corporate and financial institutions worldwide."

MySQL

MySQL is an open source relational database management system which allows you to create & manage databases and tables quickly and easily. Using a database opens up a bundle of new possibilities including building your own mailing list, developing an online catalogue, building a content management system and storing customer / client information.

Database Size

The size of your database depends on your application, as well as the number of users and items.

PHP, Python

PHP is one of the first developed server side scripting language originally designed for web development to produce dynamic Web pages.
