Tuesday 8th November 2011, marks the beginning of the second period of the launch for .xxx domain names – The Landrush period.
Only members of the adult entertainment community such as representatives, individuals or businesses that work in the sex industry or provide adult entertainment products or services are eligible to apply for .xxx web address in the Landrush period.
Adult investors are also entitled to submit applications for .xxx domains during the Landrush period which runs until 25th November 2011.
According to the official registry for .xxx domains, ICM, there are no trademarks or pre-ownership requirements and first come, first serve does not apply during this phase. At the end of the phase, single applications for .xxx names will be automatically awarded. Those with multiple applications will be entered into an auction.
Parties outside of the adult sponsored community interested in the new controversial TLD will have to wait till 6th December 2011, when the door will open and everyone will be able to put their hands on the new domain extension.
