Background…
Cosmos was one of 250 which were sited around London, from Kensington to Tower Bridge and Bank to Parsons Green, with a target of raising £2million to help conserve Asian elephants. Others were entered by all sorts of companies and organisations, but we were the only domain and hosting company involved.
Our Cosmos’ job was to go and stand outside the Royal Exchange at Bank tube station – and though Ewelina didn’t say whether this was a mummy or daddy elephant, Cosmos certainly drew attention. At the auction at the end of the event, there was a line of photographers keen to shoot the elephants – the only kind of shooting we would recommend taking part in!
In the end, the event over-shot the fundraising target and ended up raising £4million for The Asian Elephant Foundation, a great achievement, and the event is being run in Copenhagen, Heerlen and Milan during 2011.
