You may remember that earlier this year, Easyspace sponsored a wild Asian elephant named Kiruba.

Kiruba and her family could well have a more secure and stable future, after Asia’s elephant nations met recently to back an elephant action plan.

Representatives from all countries that are home to populations of wild Asian elephants met for the first time to create a joint action plan for protecting this continent’s largest mammal.

At the time of writing, Kiruba and her herd were still up in the forested hills, where researchers are unable to monitor them. The elephants should move onto the open plains of Corbett National Park shortly, so we hope to be able to bring you news of Kiruba and her family soon.

We will keep you updated on the latest with Kiruba, but in the meantime, click here to visit the WWF website.
