What is backup and restore?

Backup and restore works silently in the background making sure your web site is always secure.

Every day or week we will take a copy of your web site files and any associated databases and give you access to them via your control panel - we keep up to two months worth of data ! Our Premium product takes daily backups for seven days and weekly backups for two months - ideal when your website changes a lot, and our standard product takes weekly only backups for 2 months - great when your established and want to be safe in the mind your site and information is safe.

The backup panel allows you to recover or restore your webspace and MySQL databases.

Please note customers on windows cannot use the restore function, however all files are available for you to manually restore your website or database.

So, how long do you take backups for?

For 63 days! That means if you choose our standard package you will get a rolling 2 months worth of security and peace of mind. If you choose our premium service you will also receive daily backups for the previous 6 days! Which is great if your prototyping your web site or indeed collecting valuable customer information into your database. Don't other companies do this for free?

NO no and no. Other companies advertise backups as 'included' - however what they don't advertise is you don't have access to the data and will usually charge you to restore a backup. On top of this you will have to call their support line, and then get passed onto to the technical dept - which means time and effort on your part.

What they also don't mention is that backup is usually only for a rolling 24hrs - so if your site is broken on the Friday evening, and you don't notice till Monday afternoon you now have a backup of a broken web site!

So, is it expensive?

No - our backup product is extremely good value for money - the reason we can offer this product for so little is that we own our own data centres and manage our own equipment.
