Which Virtual Server?

With so many options on the market and four packages offered by Easyspace, how do you know which virtual server is best for you? While it may sound obvious, the correct virtual server comes down to what is important to you as the user. If, for example, price is the most important factor then we recommend looking at our Custom VPS package. This Virtual Server allows you to choose the specification, and therefore the price. If on the other hand you are a developer, then perhaps the Ruby VPS is a better option. Our Standard and Premium virtual servers offer everything you need for resilient hosting. So if just knowing you have all you need is important then we recommend those. Choosing which of those virtual servers is best comes down to what you plan on running on it. For larger websites or applications, the premium virtual server is the best option. For smaller sites, we recommend the standard virtual server.

Windows or Linux Virtual Server?

With any hosting, whether it be shared hosting, dedicated hosting or virtual server hosting, it's important to choose the correct operating system. Easyspace offers you the option of a Linux Virtual Server or a Windows Virtual Server on the Custom, Standard and Premium VPS packages, with the Ruby VPS only available as a Linux virtual server.

The choice between the Linux and Windows Virtual Servers comes down to whether you'll be running Linux based scripts (such as Python, php, Cgi) or Windows based scripts (such as ASP or ASP.Net). If you have no preference over a Windows or Linux virtual server, then we recommend basing your decision on what coding language you are going to use in with your server.
