Easyspace is delighted to announce its participation in Jungle City Edinburgh, the 2011 fund raiser organised by our favourite charity the Elephant Family.
Jungle City 2011 will see Scotland's capital city transformed into an urban jungle as life-sized sculptures of some of the planet's most endangered animals go on display across the city during August and September. We'll be running our Domain Names for a Domain campaign alongside the event, donating money from our domain name sales to help preserve the domain of the Asian elephant and other threatened species.
Just as we did for the charity's Elephant Parade in London last year, we are creating our own piece of art as part of the project. This time we're sponsoring an exotic Hornbill bird and a baby elephant.
For more information on Jungle City please visit : http://www.jungle-city.org/
Our hornbill is being designed and decorated by a wonderful group of children from the village of Balfron just north of our Glasgow HQ. They are members of a community arts group called Friends of Art Balfron or FAB and are using the work of the famous Scottish architect Alexander Greek Thomson, who was born in the village, as their inspiration. Please visit their web site at : http://balfronartworks.blogspot.com/
We'll keep you updated with their progress on Facebook - rumour has it that they're being filmed for the television!
Our Easyspace Hornbill is the only children's exhibit in the main Jungle City event so if you're visiting Edinburgh over the summer do go and see it. We will let you know where it's going to be as soon as we have found it a new home.
